So i was making pizza this weekend and had an idea when i was getting ready to throw the cardboard piece that comes on the backside of the pizza away.... it would make a good backing for a wreath!

So i immediately got busy... dug thru my fabric supply.

Here is what i came up with.

First i started with the cardboard circle from the frozen pizza.

It looks nasty but i figured i am going to putting tons of hot glue on anyways.

Then i used a silky fabric to make the outer flowers.

How to make the flowers:

First you cut the fabric into circles.  They don't have to be perfect.  The imperfections just make the flowers more interesting.

Then you cut slits around the circle.  To make the petals.

Next you burn the fabric to make it wilt.  The fabric does catch on fire very easily.  But just adds character to the petals as long as you blow it out quick enough.  I do have some spots that melted pretty good.  But this is a very forgiving method.

I made several different sizes so that you can layer them to make a flower.
Then i drew a heart shape onto my cardboard.

I hot glued the flowers on the outside of the heart.

Once i got that filled in i used another fabric to make rolled flowers to fill in the inside of the heart.

These are very easy too and not near as time consuming as the first flowers.
First you cut strips of the fabric you are using.

Then you twist the fabric.

Next you wrap the fabric like a snail's shell.  I just grab the end and starting wrapping it around, or you can tie a knot and wrap it around the knot.

Then i hot glued them on and filled it in with the rolled flowers.

That is it!

Add whatever decorative touches you want and some ribbon to hang it with.  This is kind of a time consuming project with the making of the outer flowers.  You could buy silk flowers and use instead.
